Water where it should not be? The emergency line is answered by a person, 24 hours a day, every day of the year — and we will talk you to your shutoff before anybody gets in a van. Call 000-000-0000
Hydro jetting pushes a nozzle down the line on a high-pressure hose. Jets angled backwards pull it forward and scour the pipe wall in every direction as it travels, then flush the debris back to the cleanout. Grease, soap scale, sludge and fine root hair come off completely, which is something no cable does.
It is not the answer to everything, and we will tell you when it is not. A pipe that has already failed structurally does not want two thousand PSI in it — it wants a camera first and then a repair. That is why jetting here always starts with a look inside.
When jetting is the right call
Broadly: when the pipe is sound but its inside is not.
Grease-laden kitchen lines
Residential kitchen branches and any commercial kitchen. Grease is the single most common reason a line closes slowly over years.
Restaurant and food-service drains
Floor drains, prep sinks and the run to the interceptor. Usually on a scheduled interval so it never becomes an emergency at seven on a Friday.
Root intrusion, after cutting
A root cutter removes the mass; jetting takes out the fine hair left behind at the joint, which is what regrows first.
Scale in old cast iron
Decades of build-up can halve the bore of a four-inch line. Jetting restores most of it and buys real years.
Sand, silt and construction debris
Common after building work, and after a section of line has been open to the ground.
Lines that keep coming back
Two clearings in two years is the threshold where jetting is usually cheaper over five years than cabling is.
How we do it safely
The pressure is real, so the sequence matters. This is the part that separates jetting from just spraying water down a hole.
Camera first
We look at the line before we jet it. If we find a crack, an offset or a collapse, jetting stops and the conversation becomes a repair conversation.
Pressure and nozzle matched to the pipe
Cast iron, clay, plastic and copper all take a different setting. A penetrating nozzle for a plug, a flushing head for grease, a cutter for roots.
Proper containment
Jetting returns everything it removes to the cleanout. Containment and a vacuum go down first so your basement does not receive it.
Camera again, afterwards
You see the same footage we do — the same run of pipe, before and after. If it is not clean, we are not finished.
A written recommendation
Including how long we would expect it to last on your line, and whether a scheduled interval makes sense for a commercial kitchen.
Jetting compared with cabling
Both have a place. Neither replaces the other, and anyone who tells you jetting is always better is selling something.
A cable is faster and cheaper
For a single stoppage in an otherwise healthy line, it is the right tool and the right price.
A cable makes an opening
It punches through. The pipe wall is left as it was, so the line closes again at the same rate it closed the first time.
Jetting cleans the whole bore
You get the pipe's full diameter back, which is why the interval to the next problem is measured in years rather than months.
Jetting needs a sound pipe
Which is why the camera comes first. On a broken line, jetting is the wrong answer and can make the damage worse.
Cost over five years
One jetting plus a camera usually costs less than four cablings, and you learn what is actually going on in the line.
Questions
Hydro Jetting — the questions we are asked most
What is hydro jetting?
A nozzle on a high-pressure hose is fed down the drain line. Backwards-facing jets pull it along and scour the pipe wall in every direction, flushing grease, scale, sludge and root hair back to the cleanout. Unlike a cable, which opens a channel through a blockage, jetting restores the pipe's full diameter.
How much does hydro jetting cost in Woodside, NY?
A residential branch line starts at $495 and a main house drain at $695, both including the camera inspection before and after. Root cutting with a full flush starts at $895. Commercial kitchen lines start at $850, and less on a scheduled contract.
Is hydro jetting safe for old pipes?
On sound pipe, yes — including old cast iron, which is why we camera the line first every time. On a pipe that is already cracked, offset or collapsing, jetting is the wrong tool and we will stop and price the repair instead. Nobody should be jetting a line they have not looked inside.
How often should a restaurant have its drains jetted?
Most kitchens in this neighbourhood do well on a quarterly interval; a very high-volume fryer operation sometimes wants it more often. The point of a schedule is that it happens on a Tuesday morning rather than during Friday service.
Will jetting get rid of tree roots for good?
It removes them thoroughly, including the fine hair a cutter leaves behind, so the interval before they return is much longer. It does not close the crack or joint they entered through — for that you need a spot repair or a lining, and the camera footage will show you which.
Do I need a camera inspection as well?
It is included in the price here, before and after, because jetting without looking first is a risk and jetting without looking afterwards is an unverified claim. You get to see the same footage we do.
